County Juniors on a great winning streak U14s defeated Gloucestershire 5.5 to 4.5 at Rose Hill GC – 23rd June U16s defeated Leics and Rutland 10.5 to 4.5 at Lingdale GC – 9th June U18s defeated S&H 11.5 to 3.5 at Kings Norton GC – 30th June - League
2nd Team top the Midland League with 100% record Both teams defeated Shropshire & Herefordshire on 7th June 2nds won against Derbyshire at Redditch whilst 1sts lost at Chevin on 7th July
Seniors start 2019 league season in good form The seniors won 10.5 to 7.5 against Derbyshire and 11.5 to 6.5 against Warwickshire to remain undefeated in the league.
Bill Thompson wins Seniors Strokeplay Championship Lyndon Tyler (Hagley GC) won the nett prize.
Bill Thompson and Steve Green retain the Wharrad Jugs (4BBB) at Hollywood with a gross 69. Mark Carpenter & Tony Sanders won the best nett.
Hagley GC Team win Brandhall Gold Vase at Moseley GC Their team: Tom Wakeman, Lee Ashworth, Kieron Austin, Stephen Hull and Joe Price shot a combined total of 280 (Level). Paul Garey (Moseley GC) won the individual nett prize with a 66 (gross 69).
Hayden Sarfo (Worcs G&CC) (aged 9) finished 27th in the IMG World Finals in San Diego, California: 9-10 age group tournament.
Hugh Adams (Hagley GC) (aged 14) is now rated 2nd in European Junior Rankings after coming 3rd in the Belgian U14 Championships.
The new County Website is up and running
The county website has now moved to a new platform, managed by Intelligent Golf. This has given the website a fresh new look, which is easy to navigate. Competitions and their results are very clear to see and manage. I hope you all enjoy using it under the banner – Worcestershire County Golf.
