USA retain the Walker Cup

County team golf embodies the same strength of mind and grit of both the USA and Great Britain & Ireland Teams in the 48th Walker Cup. Only one team could earn the chance to hoist the most prestigious team prize in amateur golf, and it was the USA coming out on top, 14-12, to win its third consecutive Walker Cup at Seminole GC.

Every aspiring amateur golfer aims to play in this wonderful biennial match. In 2023, it will resume its typical early-September timeframe, with the 49th Match scheduled for Sept. 2-3 at the Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland. It’s a safe bet that the home side will be determined to build on its strong performance this year to reclaim the prize that it last won in 2015 at Royal Lytham & St. Annes.
