County U14 Boys beat County U16 Boys in Pre Season Friendly

BOYS U16'S V U14'S AT GAUDET LUCE GOLF CLUB. 6/6/21

This junior practice match between the Boys U16's and U14's was organised when a scheduled U16 inter-county match was cancelled at short notice. It then became an ideal opportunity for both teams to meet up and prepare for the up-coming season.

It was a 4BBB match (using 90% handicap) which gave the younger team somewhat of an advantage, but also provided a challenge to the U16's. The match was played in an excellent competitive spirit, with players from both teams displaying superb golf throughout the day. Despite the U16's scoring well, many of the U14's (several of whom were making their first appearances) played with maturity beyond their years and took advantage of their handicap differences, and eventually ran out winners by 4 matches to 1.

We would all like to thank Mark Hewlett Snr for organising the venue and tee times at such short notice; the parents for their fantastic support; and Gaudet Luce Golf Club for hosting the fixture and providing a course in excellent condition, and the hospitality they showed to everyone was outstanding.
