Seniors beat Warwickshire in League match played at Harborne GC

Harborne GC hosted the Midland Golf Union League match between Warwickshire & Worcestershire on Wednesday 7th July 2021.

With Senior County Captain, Bill Thompson, away at the British Senior Amateur Open Championship, the Seniors were led by Tony Hill.

In a very close match, the team took a 1 point lead from the morning foursomes into the afternoon fourballs, 3 1/2 - 2 1/2. This was to prove vital, as the afternoon fourballs were halved 6 points each, leaving the overall match score 9 1/2 - 8 1/2. All the players contributed points on the day, but with two wins out of two the pairing of Bryan Swain and Ian Smith. steered the team home by winning the last fourball match 1up on the last hole.
