Solid Performance from Worcestershire Players in Mens County 6

Richard Sadler, who shot 67 & 68 to finish in 4th place individually in the EG County Championship Midland Qualifier held at Birstall GC on Saturday 10th July 2021.

The Worcestershire County Team of Kieron Austin (Hagley), Steve Lane (The Worcestershire), Adam Norman (Moseley), Richard Sadler (Moseley), Jack Severn (Cleobury Mortimer), Nathan Slater (Bewdley Pines) & Non Playing Captain Anthony Hill (Moseley) travelled to Birstall GC to contest the England Golf County Championship Midland Qualifier on Saturday 10th July.

The format of this year's event was slightly different, with the best 5 or 6 scores counting in both morning and afternoon rounds.

In the morning both Steve Lane (68) and Richard Sadler (67) shot under the par of 70, with Kieron Austin shooting a solid 71 despite holing no putts! However, given the quality of the opposition, we were lying in 7th place at lunch on a combined total of 355. However, with 3 more sub-par rounds in the afternoon - Adam Norman (67), Richard Sadler (68) and Nathan Slater(69) - backed by another 71 from Kieron Austin, we improved to finish a creditable 4th, with a 36 hole total of 703 (+3).

Richard Sadler's score of -5 gave him a 4th place finish in the individual scoring.

Anthony Hill praised all the players for their efforts, and thanked Ian Rone, County President) and Stuart & Debbie Pritchard for their support on the day.
