Dudley GC win Peter Adams Trophy!

A great day at Worcester Goff & County Club for the Peter Adams Trophy. Twenty six teams from Worcestershire club vying for the trophy named after Peter Adams who was an incredibly popular personality in the golfing world, well known in Worcestershire, across the Midlands, and more widely across the UK, playing in hundreds of local, regional, and national events. This event was inaugurated last year in his memory.

On what was a fabulous course, scores were tight with just sevens shots separating first from last. But Dudley GC with the best nett score managed to stay one shot ahead of a burgeoning field, with countbacks for the 3 placed teams, Full results can be seen here.

The County would like to thank everyone involved in making the day a huge success. The welcome and service from all the Worcester G&CC Team, was superb, and a special thanks to the Greens Team who produced the course in superb condition.

The County would also like to thank the volunteers who made the day possible: referees Tony Edwards, Clive Werrett & Brenda Binnie; starter Alec Mackie; and Brian Morris on the administration desk.

To have Peters widow, Alison, with us for the day and for her to present the prizes was an honour and one which we hope may be repeated for many years to come.
