Juniors Selected for Regional Squad

Congratulations to Philip Krone and James Ilsley on being selected for the Midland Regional squad.

Involvement with the Regional squad is the next step towards selection for the England squad and national representation. The boys will be involved in a programme of events and matches with a view to developing their skills and knowledge for further high-level achievement in golf. Along with matches against other regions, both boys will be attending coaching sessions at various sites, including the Belfry and Woodhall Spa. Along with coaching on golf skills, they will also gain knowledge on such subjects as diet and nutrition, and strength and conditioning.  Involvement can also mean the achievement of the Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE). The DiSe supports young athletes to combine sport and education so that they have the skills, knowledge and competence to pursue sporting excellence alongside developing the skills and qualifications for a post athletic career.
