Hagley golfer picks up bronze medal at European Team Championship
Hagley's Hugh Adams has been representing England in the European Team Championships, winning a Bronze medal in the final match.
England Golf reports:
The boys' side had revenge on their mind when they took on Germany in Saturday's bronze medal match having been beaten by the same opposition in last year's European Team Championship final.
Hugh Adams and Harry Malin opened the day up in style with a commanding 7&6 victory in the second of the morning foursomes before Kris Kim and Tyler Weaver doubled England's lead thanks to a nerve-shredding 20th-hole win.
Weaver had been in sensational form and he capped off a memorable individual week with a stunning 8&7 success against Nils-Levi Bock in the first of the afternoon singles.
England needed one more solitary point to claim third place and they duly delivered as Kris Kim beat Nico Kregler 2&1 before Sam Easterbrook saw off Philipp Macionga 3&2.
The boys can look back on a week of positive performances and memorable moments at the Golf Club of Geneva, including Kim's course record in the stroke play stages, and have a well deserved place on the podium to show for their efforts.
